Description: A modern vulcanized skate shoe with 3D printed durability, instant break-in comfort, and earthy military-inspired tones — from one of skateboarding's original skater-owned brands.

The Lakai Essex in Black Olive Brown layers black, olive, and brown across a design Lakai calls "Crafted Modern Design." Classic material blocking and functional tech paneling deliver maximum breathability with instant break-in right out of the box — no wearing them around the house for a week first.

The one-piece toe design is fused with 3D printed lateral texture, adding durability exactly where your shoe takes the most abuse. The dual purpose eye-stay construction uses lace-saving tech with optional protective hidden lacing, reducing material build-up for a cleaner, lower-profile fit. The seamless toecap rounds out the durability package.

The PARA-MOUNT™ outsole uses dual density rubber that delivers cushioning rivaling a cupsole while keeping the flexibility of a vulc. Each hex pod in the tread moves independently for 360-degree flexibility and maximum board feel. The arch and medial sidewall are reinforced for added support. The DELUX-LITE™ sockliner features a deep heel cup for stability and contoured arch for all-day comfort. Note: reviewers mention the Essex runs slightly roomy — consider sizing down a half size if you're between sizes.

About Lakai: Lakai Limited Footwear was founded in 1999 by pro skateboarders Mike Carroll and Rick Howard — the same duo behind Girl Skateboards. After 25 years as one of skateboarding's most respected independent shoe brands, Lakai entered a new chapter in 2024 under fresh ownership with pro skater and content creator Luis Mora as co-owner, keeping the brand skater-owned and rooted in the culture. From its origins to today, Lakai's mission has stayed the same: shoes designed by skaters, for skaters.
